Winston DeCuir
for
19th Judicial District Court
East Baton Rouge
For more than 25 years, Winston DeCuir, Jr. has dedicated his career to serving the people of Louisiana with integrity, fairness, and respect for the law.
An accomplished attorney, educator, and community leader, Winston has spent his career helping individuals and institutions navigate complex legal challenges while earning a reputation for thoughtful judgment and principled leadership. As General Counsel for Louisiana State University and throughout his years in private practice, he has advised public institutions, managed significant litigation, and worked to ensure that decisions are guided by both the law and common sense. Winston believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and he is committed to applying the law fairly and impartially.
That commitment to service is rooted in a lifelong connection to Baton Rouge and the values that shaped him. Winston attended St. Aloysius School and Catholic High School before earning his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and returning home to attend LSU Law School. He and his wife, Jennifer, have built their lives in Baton Rouge, where they are raising their three children: Winston III, William, and Mary Elizabeth.
Active in their church and deeply involved in community service, the DeCuir family believes in giving back and investing in the next generation. Over the years, Winston has served on numerous civic and charitable boards, mentored young people through 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, and supported youth athletics through the Baton Rouge Soccer Club. An avid cyclist who also enjoys hunting, fishing, and cooking outdoors, Winston values the relationships and experiences that bring people together.
He is seeking to bring to the bench the same steady judgment, unwavering integrity, and commitment to justice that have defined his life, his career, and his service to Louisiana.
